Pabitra Rout of Bhabinipur Ganjam has always dreamt big to have his own plumbing business someday. A pass out of Berhampur ITI in plumbing in 2016-17, he started his career as an apprentice with one of his relatives. After gathering a year of experience with him, he thought of working on his own. Looking at his interest and hard work, his alma mater Berhampur ITI recommended his name for the Nano Unicorn project.
Pabitra qualified to be a beneficiary of the scheme and with the seed money he got through the scheme he bought a small shop of his own and started his business. Looking at his past skill and customer relationship his clientele started growing and the business started expanding. Today his shop ‘Maa Tara Tarini plumbing & fitting shop’ not only picks up plumbing work but sells plumbing & fitting equipment.
Pabitra employed five other persons to help him with his ever growing customer base. Today, Pabitra has successfully repaid the entire one lakh rupees that he received from Nano Unicorn project to set up his business. According to him, his aim is to satisfy all his customers with good service. He also aspires to have a bigger showroom of sanitary fitting in next few years.
