Changing Life Courses Through KaryapathChanging Life Courses Through Karyapath

The West Bengal government was looking to address the challenge of lack of career counselling, and the high dropout rate amongst youth which was amplified during the pandemic. Tata STRIVE came in with a timely solution – a digitally enabled solution to discover one’s interests and match careers. The interest inventory was a tool already deployed at Tata STRIVE centres to gauge the interest areas of youth. This tool was customised for the state of West Bengal and branded as Karmadisha.
The Amar Karma Disha initiative by the West Bengal Government in collaboration with Tata STRIVE was launched so that the youth can discover their interest when engaged with a gamified exercise and identify specific job roles to provide some direction to the kind of career that is most suitable for them. A student can also opt for physical interaction with a counsellor trained by Tata STRIVE. The State Government conducts awareness drives and job melas for students to engage with Karmadisha. As of 16th December 2022, over 1 lac youth have been counselled.
